Have you ever been in the middle of baking and run out of brown sugar? Ever found a rock hard block in your pantry? Never again! This quick, easy, and delicious recipe will have you making your own.
Equipment
Stand Mixer with paddle attachment
Mason Jars or other airtight storage containers
Ingredients
6 c + ½ c White Sugar
1/4c +/- Molasses
Instructions
Add 6 c white sugar to mixer bowl with paddle attached
Turn mixer on the lowest speed (a higher speed will make a huge mess)
Slowly drizzle molasses until it becomes a golden brown. You can add more molasses if you want a darker, richer brown sugar.
You will see small lumps.
Turn speed on mixer up to two
Slowly add the 1/2c white sugar back in to break up lumps
Store in airtight containers
Makes 2 quarts
Great tutorial. How about some more.
Never says how much molasses.
Thank you for catching that. The recipe says the amount. I will correct the page today.
Working on it. I seem to always go back to my food roots.
Hope you are well.
